Excellent construction works speed up the completion of Gotthard Base Tunnel
As a result of the excellent progress of the construction works, AlpTransit Gotthard AG has revised their time schedule for the Gotthard Base Tunnel. Subsequently to this, the commissioning and handover of the tunnel to its future operator SBB Infrastructure is now scheduled for the end of May 2016. SBB Infrastructure started clarifying in detail necessary actions to ensure an earlier start of the commercial operation. In spite of the early commissioning date the process of testing, trial operation and authorisation will not be affected.
